26th Congress of the ESB (ESBiomech2020) in Online
Organised by Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy
CORONAVIRUS UPDATE : Given the serious nature of the growing COVID pandemic, the ESB2021 Organizing Committee and the ESB Council have made the decision to have the meeting fully online on July 11-14, 2021. Please save the date.
For additional information see esbiomech2021.org.
In the light of all the recent uncertainties and worries that COVID-19 brought upon us, also with respect to global travel (policies), we had long discussions about how to proceed with the organization of our Musculoskeletal System Symposium 2020. Although our symposium is nowhere anywhere close to the Olympics, their decision to postpone the games to 2021 is somewhat reassuring that we should do the same and postpone our meeting to next year. We are very sad to do so, because we, together with all of you, and many people, who showed already great interest to join the symposium, were so excited about the symposium. The new dates for the Musculoskeletal System Symposium 2021 are July 20-22, 2021!
On June 1, 2019, the University of Stuttgart established the new Institute for Modelling and Simulation of Biomechanical Systems. We would lik to take this occasion to invite you to Stuttgart for a “Musculoskeletal System Symposium”. The goal is to bring together young and renowned international researchers to discuss and
improve our understanding of the musculoskeletal system as a whole. The symposium will take place from July 16 – 18, 2020. We are all looking forward to welcoming you in Stuttgart.
The International Society of Biomechanics (ISB) in collaboration with The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH), the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Karolinska Institute (KI) are looking forward to welcoming you to a fully digital congress on the 25-29 July 2021. All lectures will be held in English.
Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and the most populous urban area in the Nordic countries. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Just outside the city and along the coast is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The city is home to some of Europe’s top ranking universities and a hub for academic excellence in Scandinavia.
CMBBE 2021: 17th International Symposium on Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering and the 5th Conference on Imaging and Visualization
We hope that the global situation will improve and we will see everyone in Bonn in September 2021! We will carefully monitor the situation and do our best to include all contributions, either virtually or onsite.
12th Conference of the German Society for Biomechanics (DGfB)
Due to Covid-19 the Conference planned for the 17-19.03.2021 in Cologne has unfortunately been cancelled. The Conference is expected to take place in the Spring of 2022 at the German Sport University in Cologne.
An Online-Event will be on March 17th 2021. The preliminary program includes:
- Virtual Young Researcher Award-Session and a Young Researcher Prize
- Media-Prize: Young researchers can present their projects and laboratories in the form of a short Video
- Impulse-Presentation on Social-Networks in a scientific context.

The aim of this workshop is to train clinicians and engineers, who are especially interested in joint research. It will allow the participants to gain knowledge in planning and conducting biomechanical experiments by a balanced mixture of 6 lectures and 8 laboratories. The number of participants is limited to 20 in order to guarantee a maximum efficiency for the single attendee.
