The Faculty of Economics and Behavioral Sciences of the University of Freiburg invites applications for a
Full Professorship (W3) for Sportscience with focus on Science of Training- and Movement Sciences (Succession: Prof. Dr. Albert Gollhofer)
in the Department of of Sport and Exercise Science to be filled by 1st. April 2022.
The professor is expected to research functional adaptation processes to training and exercise and the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system in sports and represent these fields in teaching. The research should be able to transfer from basic research to applications in sports and exercise.
An internationally network researcher with proven expertise in sport-related movement research with detailed knowledge in biomechanical and exercise science methodological fields is sought. It is expected that the professor will develop collaborations with other research centers and groups at the University and the University Hospital.
The Professor* is expected to provide exercise and movement science and biomechanical teaching in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in sports science.
Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree, an outstanding dissertation and an excellent publication record. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system, are expected.
