The University of Innsbruck invites applications for the position of<\/p>\n

University Professor of\u00a0SPORT SCIENCE WITH FOCUS ON BIOMECHANICS<\/h2>\n

at the Department of Sport Science at the Faculty of Psychology and Sport Science.<\/p>\n

It is a position in accordance with \u00a7 98 of the Austrian Universities\u2019 Act (Universit\u00e4tsgesetz -UG) and will be based on a civil-law employment contract with the University on the basis of
\nthe Salaried Employees Act (Angestelltengesetz). The contract will be concluded for an unlimited period; the extent of employment is 100%.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities include<\/strong>
\nThe chair-holder is to represent the subject of \u201cSport Science\u201d both in research and teaching with a focus on \u201cBiomechanics\u201d, esp. at the interface with \u201cSport Technology\u201d. She\/he is expected to bring new impulses to the well-established biomechanical and sports technology research activities at the Department of Sport Science. The preferred focus areas include\u00a0(i) biomechanics and\u00a0(ii) the development and implementation of state-of-the-art technologies in sports science and practice. The successful candidate should strive for an international leadership role in these fields. Particular interest should also be given to alpine sports activities.<\/p>\n

She\/he will seek close cooperation with the units of the faculty\u2019s Research Areas \u201cNeuromechanics\u201d, \u201cPhysiology and Prevention\u201d, \u201cSports Medicine\u201d, \u201cSports Psychology\u201d, \u201cSports Economics\u201d and \u201cActive Mobility\u201d and will also participate in the faculty-spanning Research Areas \u201cHealth and Prevention over the Life Span\u201d and \u201cAlpine Sports\u201d, which is part of the universities research focus area \u201cMountain Regions\u201d. Further collaborations with researchers in the technical and natural science faculties at the University of Innsbruck are encouraged.<\/p>\n

In teaching, the future professor needs to cover the subject area \u201cSport Science\u201d with a focus on \u201cBiomechanics\u201d on all three levels of the Bologna System (B.A., M.A., PhD) in the relevant
\ncourses of the Faculty of Psychology and Sport Science. Beyond that she\/he is expected to participate in appropriate Bachelor\u2019s and Master\u2019s programmes in other faculties and an active participation in doctoral programs is desired.<\/p>\n

Personal involvement in academic administration and self-governance as well as in the department\u2019s and faculty\u2019s working groups will form another essential duty.<\/p>\n
