The Gait Laboratory of the Orthopaedic Hospital for Children Aschau Germany invites applications for a
PhD position in the fields of motion analysis / clinical biomechanics
The successful applicant should possess a Master’s degree in Human Movement Sciences, Sports Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related discipline with a talent to work with children. Preliminary experience in 3D gait analysis, and MatLab programming would be helpful.
The PhD position will focus on neuro-musculoskeletal impairments in children and their functional implications on gait.
The position is funded by the Behandlungszentrum Aschau GmbH. The position will be available from 1st April 2017 and will start with a 2 years contract. Extension is subject to satisfactory progress. Salary will be offered half-time, according to federal regulation (TVL) depending on level of qualification.
The paediatric orthopaedic hospital in Aschau is Germany’s largest orthopaedic hospital for children; clinical director is Dr. Leonhard Doederlein. Aschau is located 1h South-east from Munich close to the Bavarian Alps. Co-supervision will be in collaboration with the University of Technology Munich, other suitable collaborations are welcome.
