The Orthopaedic Department at the University of Tübingen, Germany is currently seeking candidates for a full-time position as a
Remuneration is according to TV-L 13 for 2 years, with the possibility of extension.
The post holder will work in the Orthopaedics Biomechanics lab, which is equipped with an MTS 858 machine, a Kuka KR60 robot, and a customised knee simulator. The main research focus of the lab is in the biomechanical evaluation of artificial and normal joints in the spine and lower limb.
- Develop test protocols to answer basic science and clinical questions in orthopaedicsbiomechanics research, in cooperation with surgeons, engineers and students.
- Conduct biomechanical testing of orthopaedic implants, surgical techniques, etc.
- Perform measurements, and statistical analysis of data.
- Preparation of abstracts, manuscripts and grants.
- a relevant Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
- excellent programming skills (e.g. Matlab, LabView), and/or expected to acquireknowledge in robotic programming.
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- ability to work independently and in a team.
- an excellent command of written and spoken English.
- previous experience in solving orthopaedic problems that combine simulation andexperiments.
- previous record of high-quality research.
- experience working with a Kuka KR60 robot.
- some knowledge of German or willingness to learn German.
