BMT 2018, the 52th annual conference of the German Society for Biomedical Engineering – Aachen

The board of directors of the Helmholtz Institute of the RWTH Aachen University will be the host of the BMT 2018, the 52th annual conference of the German Society for Biomedical Engineering (DGBMT within VDE).

The mission of the Helmholtz-Institute for Biomedical Engineering of the RWTH Aachen University is interdisciplinary basic research and development of personalised biomedical engineering solutions. The common objective of all initiated projects, activities and tasks is to create innovation for a better health care.

The conference topics will cover the entire field of Biomedical Engineering, as it is represented by the plurality of DGBMT expert committees. Special emphasis is put on the following topics:
• Biohybrid Medical Systems
• Cyber Medical Systems
• Patient Specific Model Guided Therapy
• Imaging
• Clinical Translation

Physicians, engineers and natural scientists are welcome to conduct an intensive dialogue on the exciting scientific achievements and to discover the best ways for translation from science to practice. Interdisciplinary communication, socializing and brainstorming are long standing traditions of these conferences.

2. GAMMA-Kongress in Hamburg – 9.-10.2.2017

GAMMA Kongress 2018!

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,

es freut mich, dass ich Sie zum zweiten GAMMA-Kongress nach Hamburg einladen darf.
Nachdem der erste wissenschaftliche Kongress der GAMMA in Wien im Februar 2016 sehr erfolgreich verlaufen ist, hat sich der Vorstand der GAMMA dazu entschlossen, alle zwei Jahre einen entsprechend großen Kongress zu veranstalten. Die Workshops werden weiter in Wien stattfinden. Ziel soll wieder der interdisziplinäre Austausch zwischen Wissenschaft und Praxis sein, d.h. zwischen Physikern, Informatikern, Ingenieuren, Sportwissenschaftlern, Physiotherapeuten, Medizintechnikern und Ärzten.
Die Bewegungsanalyse der unteren Extremität ist ein seit langem etabliertes Verfahren. Zunehmend wird die obere Extremität untersucht, ein weiterer Fokus gilt dem Fuß. Als Veranstaltungsort für den zweiten GAMMA-Kongress haben wir die Hansestadt Hamburg gewählt. Gerade eine Weltstadt wie Hamburg ist ideal geeignet, um offen und interdisziplinär zu diskutieren.
Den entsprechenden Rahmen hierzu bietet uns das HOTEL HAFEN HAMBURG mit einem fantastischen Blick auf die Elbe und ihren regen Schiffsverkehr.
In diesem Sinne wünsche ich uns allen einen spannenden und inspirierenden sowie erfolgreichen Kongress und lade Sie herzlich ein, aktiv mit zu gestalten!

Basic Biomechanics and Experimental Methods for Joint Research – Ulm (13-15.11.2017)

The aim of this workshop is to train clinicians and engineers, who are especially interested in joint research. It will allow the participants to gain knowledge in planning and conducting biomechanical experiments by a balanced mixture of 6 lectures and 8 laboratories. The number of participants is limited to 20 in order to guarantee a maximum efficiency for the single attendee.
